I decided to set up a Foundation whose purpose is to protect the environment and to encourage sustainable development (...). By definition, this is a common global challenge that requires urgent and concrete action in response to three major environmental issues: climate change, biodiversity and water.
Reintroduction of the gypaetus barbatus in the Alpine Arc
South of the Alps, the Foundation is participating in the protection and reintroduction of the gypaetus barbatus, one of the 8 most endangered bird species in Europe. The Foundation is financing the acquisition of young birds and the organisation of their release into the wild alternately in the Mercantour National Park and the Maritime Alps National Park, as well as the observation work that follows. Observers in the field will monitor the birds that are released by means of telemetric tracking via satellite, thanks to a transmitter attached to the birds.
